Berhampur: Udaynath Panda (75), the father of journalist Deepak Kumar Panda, He was in Indian navy.He served our country for 15 years and proved himself as a brave son of our motherland.He was present in the battle field against the enemies in the historical war of INDIA and CHINA in 1962.He was honoured by our former Prime Minister Indira gandhi for his extraordinary performance in India and Pakistan war 1971.Then he performed his duties for our state as a government employee.
He was ill for a long period and became serious at his residence Krishnamapentha Street near Badabazar, Berhampur. Immediately his sons and relatives shifted him to MKCG Medical College in serious condition. But there doctor examined him and declerd him dead. He was religious, sociable, altruistic man.Till death He proved himself as a responsible Indian citizen.His three sons -Deepak,Pradeep ,Prasant and two daughters – Lata, Gita and son-in-laws, daughter in laws and grandchildren were present at the funeral. Journalists Lalatendu Choudhury, Rajendra Kumar Pandit, Nalinikant Panda along with many social activists from Berhampur gave their last respects to the late Udaynath Panda and prayed for the well-being of the immortal soul.
